-The Houston Dash are enjoying the NWSL league-wide break at the midpoint of the season. What’s going on?
Michelle Alozie
-Michelle Alozie and Nigeria have started play in the Women’s AFCON tournament. Alozie started two of the three games helping Nigeria win the group and advance to the quarters. Alozie played the full 90 in the first two group stage games at RB. In Game 3, Nigeria preserved players as they only needed a draw or win to win group since they already advanced. Nigeria’s next match is on Friday against Group A’s second place Zambia in the knockout rounds. All matches are played on BeIN Sports.

-Barb Olivieri and Venezuela have started the Women’s Copa America with an intense battle against group favorite Brazil. Barb played 84 minutes at the RW position in a good effort by Venezuela falling 0-2. Venezuela continues play in group play on Wednesday. All games can be watched on FS1.

Dash next friendly is Sunday
-The Dash have announced another friendly to take place at 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 20th at Houston Sports Park. Carolina Ascent FC of the USL Super League will be the opponent. The match will be open to Season Ticket Holders.

-Houston returns to league play on Saturday, August 2nd on the West Coast against Bay FC.
